Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the one and only, might revisit Fleabag when she’s 50-years-old. That’s only about 16 years away!

The Emmy Award winner appeared on Seth Meyers the other night to chat about her spectacular Emmy wins for Fleabag (Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, to name three). Waller-Bridge has always said Fleabag would not be returning for a third series, but she did reveal she might revisit it way down the line.

“I quite like the idea of coming back to her – well me – when I’m 50 because I feel like she would’ve had more life then and God knows what she would’ve gotten up to,” she shared. “And actually seeing a character like that in a later stage of life is, I think, exciting.

“But for now, she’s been through enough.”

Fair.

After winning all those Emmy Awards, Waller-Bridge confirmed to the press junket backstage that a third season was just not in the cards.

“This just feels like the most beautiful, beautiful way to say goodbye to it,” she said. “It does feel nice to go out on a high. You can’t get higher than this.”

Waller-Bridge’s next big projects, that we know of, include the upcoming James Bond flick, No Time to Die. She was brought on to polish off the script. She also has a secret movie in the works, that she intends to bring to the big screen sometime in the future.

And, Waller-Bridge just signed an overall deal with Amazon Studios worth a cool USD$20 million a year. She’s set to create and produce new television content for Amazon.
