Pharrell And His Enormous Hat Are Making A Cameo On ‘The Simpsons’ Next Month

The Simpsons‘ team appear to be pulling out all the stops they can to rescue what sadly appears to be the legendary show’s downward turn, or jump of the shark, if you will (nothing will ever beat season 10, IMHO, fight me), by jazzing up their 26th season with a bunch of universally appealing celebrity guest stars.

Two weeks ago, news came in that twenty-something dream Lena Dunham will be lending her voice to another twenty-something in Springfield—a woman who ends up dating Homer.

Today, however, Fox has announced that Season 26’s latest addition will be none other than Pharrell (ft. hat), playing himself. As great as Dunham’s cameo probably will be, the cameos that are made by celebrities playing themselves are straight up gold – need I mention the legendary season 12 ‘NSync cameo, forever in my heart.

According to Entertainment Weekly, (where you can see Pharrell simpson-ified) Pharrell will cameo in an upcoming (as in, February) episode called “Walking Big & Tall” in which Pharrell lends his song-making prowess to Springfield by composing a new anthem for the town – their previous tune, they find out, was just a stock-standard replica of other town’s own anthems. Classic Shelbyville.

This will, of course, be excellent. Other upcoming season 26 cameos include Nick Offerman (!!!), Sarah Silverman, Sammy Hagar and Will Forte.
