Last weekend, magnificent bastard PewDiePie promised to delete his YouTube channel when he hit 50 million subscribers, to protest the site’s algorithm for trending videos.
He did not, however, say which channel he’d be deleting, so overnight, when he hit the 50 million benchmark, he revealed that it was all a giant act of trolling, and deleted his secondary channel, Jack septiceye2.
Jack septiceye2 had over a million subscribers itself, and for any normal person, deleting that shit would really sting, but YouTube’s highest-paid star probably won’t miss it all that much.
“You know when you make a joke, and it just blows up way bigger than you ever imagined?” he said, of last weeked’s shenanagins. “That was it, that was the joke.”
