Paris Hilton Has Blessed Us With A Video For Heartbeat, Just Fifteen Years After It Came Out

Paris Hilton

Beautiful enigma Paris Hilton has blessed the world with a video for Heartbeat, just fifteen short years after her self-titled debut album came out. We are truly not worthy of this punctual queen!

Halfway trough her album of upbeat bops comes Heartbeat, a slow and tender synth ballad reminiscent of Cyndi Lauper‘s Time After Time.

The song has long been a favourite among fans, and now it finally gets a dreamy and opulent video of its own. Speaking to Paper, Paris Hilton explained:

“I’ve been listening to [Paris] so much with my boyfriend [Carter Reum]. In 2006, I didn’t even know what love was, but the words to [‘Heartbeat’] finally have meaning. It describes the way I feel for him so much that I was like, ‘I have to do a music video.’ I thought it’d be perfect to release around Valentine’s Day, just as a celebration of finally having true love.”

Reum even makes a brief cameo, with Hilton explaining:

“My boyfriend is not the type of guy who will be in a music video. He’s a businessman and hates the spotlight. He’s not that type of person at all. I asked Carter, ‘I know you’d never do this, but it’d mean so much to me. We’ll just shoot you from the back. There’s obviously no one I’d rather do this with, the song was literally meant for me and you.’ He said, ‘Yes,’ and I was so happy.”

The video, featuring a very glittery Paris, was directed by her long-time makeup artist Etienne Ortega. You can go ahead and check it out below:
