You may remember the surprisingly matter-of-fact (and nude?) Instagram video that rap superstar Cardi B posted earlier this month, in which she announced that she and husband Offset would be separating and seeking a divorce.
The announcement came in the wake of a number of allegations about Offset’s fidelity, or lack thereof, and a lot of Cardi B fans were happy to see their queen lose a man who appeared to only be weighing her down.
But now Offset, apparently alone and lonesome on his birthday, has posted a candid video of his own, begging Cardi for forgiveness, saying:
I only got one birthday wish, and that’s to get my wife back, Cardi. We’re going through a lot of things right now. […] I want to apologise to you Cardi, I embarrassed you, I made you feel crazy, doing things I had no business, I was partaking in activities that I shouldn’t have been. […] I apologise for breaking your heart, breaking our promise, breaking God’s promise, and being a selfish, messed-up husband. I’m trying to be a better person. […] I apologise to you Cardi, I love you and Kulture, I want to spend Christmas with you. I want to be able to spend the rest of my life with you. I’m sorry for what I’ve done to you. I didn’t fuck that girl, but I was entertaining. I apologise, and I love you, and I hope you can forgive me. My birthday wish is just to have you back.
He “didn’t fuck that girl“, but he was… entertaining her? I simply cannot see a world in which that isn’t a euphemism for something, but ok.
The vid comes after a series of indications that Offset is not particularly stoked on the current state of affairs, including this tweet (if you read between the lines, it seems like he misses Cardi):

As well as the fact that his solo album, due to drop a couple days ago, mysteriously wasn’t released.

Fans have noticed how happy Cardi B has been looking since the breakup, but at least one person has been trying to get the pair back together – none other than 50 Cent, who’s been tweeting at both of them telling Cardi to “go back home” and Offset to “just kiss her ass man“. Good advice.
Anyway – watch the video, and try not to have your icy heart melted at least a little bit by Offset’s grovelling. Then, I dunno, remember that Cardi B is a record-breaking rapper with a stellar career ahead of her and she could probably do way better than someone who messes her around in any way, and go ahead and let that heart frost over again.
