Packer’s Ex Jodhi Meares was Three Times Over Limit in Sydney Crash, Faces Possible Jail Time

The model and fashion designer recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.181, almost four times over the limit, after smashing her 4WD into a line of at least three parked cars in the suburb of Bellevue Hill. Police say she was also driving on a suspended license.

Witnesses say that they heard a large “boom” and saw Meares’ vehicle hit the others before rolling and ending up on its side. She was helped from the car by bystanders, and police say that she was unhurt following the accident.

Two of the parked cars were so badly smashed that they needed to be towed away. Meares was taken to Waverley Police Station, where she was charged with high range drink driving and driving while suspended.

The 43-year-old Meares is due to marry former INXS and Noiseworks singer Jon Stevens in September, with a lavish ceremony already planned, but current circumstances could well throw that into disarray.

In NSW, both offenses can carry the penalty of up to 18 months’ jail and a $3300 fine. The 43-year-old Meares will appear in Waverley Local Court on August 5.
