A Sleep-Deprived Osher May Have Dropped A Huge ‘Bachie’ Spoiler On The Air

I have a gift and an equally-powerful curse. When I am entrusted with secrets by those around me, I can keep them locked down for decades. But when I don’t know what I’ve been told is meant to be a secret? Oh, Jesus. I have accidentally ruined surprise parties by running my mouth, and I will more than likely reveal a surprise engagement or pregnancy before my number is up.

In this respect, and only in this respect, I am similar to The Bachelorette host Osher Gunsberg, who this morning appeared to unwittingly spoil elements of the show’s finale.

Speaking to Kyle Sandilands & Jackie O on KISS FM this morning, Gunsberg was asked to discuss tonight’s semi-final, which will show star Angie Kent choose her final two suitors out of Timm Hanly, Ryan Anderson and Carlin Sterritt.

The problem here is that Osher appeared to get his days mixed up, and proceeded to chat as if the final episode is tonight instead of tomorrow.

“It is the finale, it’s the final moment of Angie’s journey,” Osher said, incorrectly.

“She had quite a tumultuous time toward the end of it.

“And tonight, that’s the tears you see. She’s torn, it’s the classic choice. It’s not like in other years where we have two kind of similar kind of people at the very end, these are two very different-”

And then he was cut off the line.

What part of his statement could possibly be construed as a spoiler? Well, I am so glad you asked. Anderson and Sterritt are relatively normal competitors in the Bachie-verse, while Hanly is… Well, I mean, we wrote a whole piece about how he’s a loveable oddball. He also looks like if Gerard Way was raised in Byron Bay. Osher’s flub suggests Hanly is locked in for the final two, with a great shot at winning Kent’s heart.

It is likely Osher was cut off by his publicist during the call to stop him spreading more top-secret intel, and he appeared to admit his fuck-up when the call was reconnected a minute or so later.

“I’ve got a newborn, I’m sleeping 75 minutes at a time,” he said, adding he was temporarily confused about which day it is.

Combine that statement with some other sneaky rumours about Sterritt, and we can reasonably expect a Hanly / Anderson final. You’ll be able to find out how thoroughly Osher cooked it when the episode hits Channel 10 at 7.30pm tonight.
