One Of The ‘Bachlorette’ Dudes Is Under Fire For Transphobic Remarks

A few days back, the headshots of the current round of U.S. Bachelorette boys hit the internet, and we revelled in the overwhelming number of v-neck t-shirts and dazzlingly white teeth.
Since that happened, though, one of the Bachie bros has come under fire for comments that he made in his official bio for the show, that many have slammed as transphobic and inappropriate.
Bryce, described as a 30-year-old firefighter from Orlando, was asked to list his worst fear on a first date, and the best he could come up with for this complete softball of a question was: “The chick is actually a dude.”
He was quickly called out for the remark on social media.
I Am Cait star Jen Richards wrote: “Dear Bryce, on behalf of trans women I can assure you: none of us want to date your bland preppy 1980’s teen movie villain rhombus ass.”
“Bryce from the Bachelorette’s biggest fear is trans women who are attempting to conceal their birth sex. I see why yer single, douche bag,” said Sharon Needles, past winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race

The comments have since been scrubbed from Bryce’s bio page on ABC‘s official Bachelorette website, but the network has not yet commented, and is probably hoping this will all blow over.
Bryce’s Q&A still contains lines like:

Who is your favorite actor and why? Matthew McConaughey. I could see myself being him.
Alright, alright … alright?
