The breakup of an engagement is never a fun thing, but the era of social media means you can make it into a fun thing and be duly rewarded with sweet, sweet likes and shares. And in the end, isn’t that really what matters?
Orange is the New Black star Lea DeLaria yesterday announced that she had broken up with her fianceé Chelsea Fairless the very week they were supposed to get married. A wedding which was going to be officiated by Sandra Bernhardt, which makes it sting all the more.
But, saying that she wanted to be excluded from “the tragic and basic celebrity breakup narrative”, she did it in style – by posting their hilarious engagement photo: a Photoshopped pic of her and Fairless as David Gest and Liza Minnelli (feat. Michael Jackson) with the faint strains of Roxette‘s It Must Have Been Love over the top.
Yep.
