Oh Lord, ‘South Park’ Is Taking On White Supremacists In The S21 Premiere

Welp, here we bloody go. South Park has already stated they’re moving away from the serialised format they’ve been employing for the last season-and-a-bit, embracing the episode-by-episode satire of yore that built the fanbase they have. And if the teaser for the premiere of season 21 (holy shit) is anything to go by, it’s gonna be… good lord, it’s gonna be a thing.

The first episode of S21 carries the title ‘White People Renovating Houses‘ and the short teaser released earlier today shows Randy Marsh grappling with a group of angry, Confederate flag-waving, tiki torch-carrying townsfolk. Yes, tiki torches. They’re going straight for Charlottesville. Christ.

Parker and Stone have repeatedly stated that they struggle to fit in the weirder-than-weird world of the Trump Presidency into the show, but attacking the fringe issues that have cropped up around seems like the easy way into things. Though that said it’s gonna be hard to tackle the issue of white supremacists without at least hinting at the fact that the President of the United States is kinda, y’know, their hero.

The official episode description reads: “Protests break out on the streets of South Park. Protestors armed with tiki torches and confederate flags take to the streets of South Park. Randy comes to grips with what it means to be white in today’s society.

Oh… boy.

South Park S21E01 airs this coming Thursday Australian time. Lord, give us strength.
