‘Misfits‘, the iconic British drama which always seemed to be pitched as ‘what if ‘Heroes‘ was set in England and all the heroes were fuckwits’, is getting a US reboot.
Deadline reports that the first lot of casting has been announced, and it turns out all the characters will be the same. Is this proof that Americans simply can’t deal with British accents?
Huh. Fair enough.
Four out of five of the gang of young offenders who suddenly gain superpowers have been cast, so without further adieu:
Alisha, the princess played by Antonia Thomas whose only goals in life was to have fun and fuck boys, will be played by Ashleigh LaThrop.
Curtis, the fallen-from-grace runner football player original played by Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, will be played by Tre Hall. This time, he’s a “talented and cocky football player”, instead of an Olympic runner who took the fall for his girlfriend when he was busted with coke.
Kelly, who was played by Lauren Socha using her honest-to-god real accent, will be played by Allie MacDonald.
And finally Nathan – undoubtable the star of the show, which was left in tatters after Robert Sheehan left imo – will be played by Jake Cannavale, who honestly looks like Sheehan’s younger cousin.
Honestly? We’re not holding our breaths here.
