Nina Proudman is in a good place. Not quite the champagne soaked nirvana of the actress who plays her, Asher Keddie, who won Most Popular Actress at The Logies on Sunday night, but somewhere in that general vicinity. The daze-prone doctor from Melbourne (she’s an obstetrician to be exact, hence the title) skips into Offspring’s third season with everything she ever wanted: a loving man (and a doctor, he’s a man doctor), a rewarding job, and a caring family. But can she finally be happy ever after? Forever, ever? Forever, ever? Probably not.
TV convention suggests otherwise: and whether it’s by choice, by circumstance or the inexorable force of the universe grinding her life into new and unexpected directions, Nina won’t be ever after anything for long. Plus the person she thought was her Dad isn’t? There’s that. Check out the season three trailer below and remember to tune in tonight at 8:30.
