Not Saying He Did It, But Kim’s Bodyguard Just Went Broke W/ $1.4M In Debt

Well this is a bizarre twist in the Kim Kardashian-getting-robbed-at-gunpoint story: her bodyguard – who has accidentally found himself at the centre of this tale – declared bankruptcy with debts of more than €1 million (AU $1.47 million) just ten weeks ago.

Pascal Duvier, 42, filed for bankruptcy for his German security company on July 22 this year, according to documents obtained by the Daily Mail. Apparently, the level of debt is absolutely bloody huge. “There is so much debt,” the insolvency lawyer told the MailOnline. “There are so many claimants. I cannot say the exact number. Lots.”

If you’ve been following this story closely at all (and props to wading through the utter drudge that is people using the extremely distressing incident to explain, again, why they don’t like the woman), then you’ll be familiar with Pascal.
First, fans were critical that he wasn’t with Kim when masked gunman broke into her Paris hotel room, bound and gagged her, and stole AU $14 million worth of jewellery (he was across town escorting Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian to French nightclub L’Arc).
He then went full Liam Neeson on us all and promised to hunt down the men involved in this crime. “We have tips and leads and we will find you – that I promise you,” he told the MailOnline. “You messed with the wrong one.”
There is absolutely no suggestion that Pascal was involved in the robbery. But it is indeed weird.
A friend told Us Magazine that Kim doesn’t blame Pascal for not being by her side, saying she “felt completely safe at the Paris apartment and doesn’t believe this is his fault in any way,” and a spokesperson confirmed that it is normal practice for him to provide security to other family members once Kim is safely in her residence.

On the plus side, news broke this morning that CCTV from a nearby shop captured images of the attackers’ faces, so hopefully French police will solve this one soon.
