NOT A DRILL: ‘Survivor Australia’ Is Coming In 2016, And You Can Apply

Australia is having another go of it and getting a local version of Survivor, and BRB BECAUSE WE ARE CURRENTLY SCREAMING.

Network Ten, clearly capitalising on their success of taking international reality shows and Aussie-fying them (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Shark Tank), has commissioned Australian Survivor, set to air 2016.

While the exact location of the survival challenge / human drama reality show hasn’t yet been revealed, it will take place on a remote tropical island somewhere overseas, so if you’re down to compete, you won’t even have to deal with the BILLIONS OF AUSTRALIAN ANIMALS THAT WANT TO MURDER YOU IN YOUR SLEEP.

[UPDATED]: Castings are now open at survivorcasting.com.au. Game face, guys – it’s time.

The Nine Network tried the same thing a decade ago, and it was not good. For challenges, they had to do shit like sit still and raise their arm when they thought half an hour had passed, or find a painted rock hidden on a hill.

“I am delighted that Network Ten has decided to make the Australian version of the show,” creator of the show Charlie Parsons said, clearly choosing along with everyone else to pretend the budget version never happened. “I can’t wait to see it!”

OMG SAME THO.
