Lana Condor Reveals Noah Centineo Lightly Scammed His Way Into ‘All The Boys’

Alright pals, I’m throwing it way back to the first moment we all clasped eyes on whoa-whoa-whoa maestro Noah Centineo in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before – arguably the film that threw sweetie pies Lana Condor and Centineo into the spotlight.

22-year-old Centineo, apart from having a very nice face, is pretty tall. A squiz on the ol’ Google reveals he’s 1.85 metres tall which is just over six feet. In comparison, Condor is 1.6 metres tall which is around 5.2 feet.

Yep, Centineo is a full head taller than Condor… with heels on in that picture (I’m assuming).

SO, if you’ve seen the movie more than once – and let’s be real, we all probably have – then you would have noticed that Lara Jean Song Covey wears platform shoes a lot. Peter Kavinsky even calls them “sexy” at one point if memory serves me correct. But, as Condor revealed at the 2018 Vulture Festival over the weekend, these weren’t just a badass fashion statement.

“The funny thing is, Lara Jean wears these big platforms pretty much throughout the whole movie. I love those platforms,

“But the reason we had them is because I don’t think the producers realised how much Noah is taller than me.”

I mean, this is nothing wild until Condor explains just why the producers didn’t realise how tall Centineo was.

In short, the internet’s boyfriend would subtly hunch over throughout the audition process to pull a fast one on the crew. I mean, I am no actor/producer/crew member but how does one just hide their real height from so many people!?

Props to the man though because it somehow bloody worked. It wasn’t until it was time for a camera test did the producers realise just how tall Centineo was compared to Condor’s 1.6 metres.

“When we went into a camera test, after we’d already been cast, I didn’t make it into a frame with him, because he’s that much taller than me. I heard the producers were like, ‘What is happening?’” the actor recalled.

“Later, Noah told me he would stand behind me and scrunch down to make himself look shorter. So, those shoes hold a special place in my heart. It’s sweet, that’s how much he wanted the job.”

A job we are all thankful for.
