No Years Is Back For New Year’s Eve 2012

Forget Times Square. Brisbane has its very own New Year’s Eve ball-dropping ceremony* with the No Years Festival – returning for its second consecutive year over the dying moments of 2011 and hopeful virgin seconds of 2012. No Years is all about avoiding the shitty New Years Eve traditions that the final night and/or first morning of the year are cursed with: same-old fireworks, bad DJs and even worse kissers. The festival organisers have abolished these NYE drawbacks and provided superior alternatives – like a lineup boasting Dum Dum Girls, Jonti and Ball Park Music (with more to be announced), a killer art exhibition curated by Nine Lives Gallery, a food fair, free buses…

The action takes place at the Brisbane Powerhouse from 3pm til late on December 31st.
