Nintendo Have Delayed The New ‘Legend Of Zelda’ For The Wii U

Hey Legend Of Zelda lovers, we’re sorry to report that the next game in the long-running series – aka the main reason we’re still holding out before plonking down hard-earned money for a Wii U – won’t be coming out this year.
While the news is frustrating, it isn’t necessarily all bad – in a message posted to YouTube, series producer Eiji Aonuma says that the delay is necessary to make this “the most complete and ultimate Zelda game.”
Aonuma says that the game’s open-world setting allows for “freedom of exploration that hasn’t existed in any Zelda to date,” and that the development team have discovered “several new possibilities” for gameplay.
“As we have worked to turn these possibilities into reality, new ideas continue to spring forth, and it now feels like we have the potential to create something that exceeds even my own expectations,” he continued.
The producer is now adamant that creativity, rather than schedules, will dictate the game’s release date, and as such, it will not be coming out in 2015 as originally planned, nor will it be shown at this year’s E3 conference.
While we’re seriously gutted at this news, we have faith that Aonuma and the team will come through with something incredible. At least we now have Majora’s Mask 3D to see us through.
