New ‘Harry Potter’ Trilogy Coming In 2016

What sounds like it would be the most boring thing ever – a Warner Bros. shareholders and investors meeting – has today turned out to be something nearing the exact opposite with news that an entirely new trilogy of movies set in the Harry Potter universe will begin rolling out biannually, beginning November 18th, 2016.

The films – two more of which will roll out in 2018 and 2020, with the prospect of more in the future – will take their narrative cues from the debut screenplays written by JK Rowling and adapted from her 42-page 2001 spin-off compendium, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.
Directed by David Yates, who also directed the final four – and arguably best – Potter films, the Fantastic Beasts films have at their centre the ‘magizoologist’ Newt Scamander, the author of the film’s eponymous textbook. Meaning there’s most likely more scope for not only a Daniel Radcliffe cameo, but also for many more method depictions of the mechanics of pincers.
