The Trailer For Netflix’s New Teen Series ‘Never Have I Ever’ Is 2 Mins Of Thirsty Chaos

Never Have I Ever

I am but a simple gal, I see Mindy Kaling, I click. Hence this yarn. Netflix has unveiled the trailer for its new coming-of-age series, Never Have I Ever, the semi-autobiographical series based on Kaling. It looks absolutely delightful.

In Never Have I Ever, we’re introduced to first-generation Indian American teenager Devi, played by newcomer, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. She’s an overachieving high school sophomore who is extremely thirsty. In the opening seconds of the trailer, we see Devi reading Anna Todd‘s very horny book After. Let’s leave it at that.

Fun fact: Ramakrishnan landed the role after an open casting call attracted 15,000 responses. Unreal.

The series is created by Kaling, who also serves as executive producer. Lang Fisher, known for The Mindy ProjectThe Onion News, and 30 Rock, serves as the big three – showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

Have at it.

So in other words, the trailer is two minutes and one second of chaos. Can’t wait!

Never Have I Ever drops on Netflix this month, April 27.

Netflix is also gearing up for the release of a new teen love story called The Half of It. I cannot express how excited I am for this film, it looks so promising. In it we meet 17-year-old Ellie Chu (Leah Lewis), a straight-A student who agrees to write love letters for sweet but inarticulate jock Paul Munsky (Daniel Diemer), who has trouble expressing himself to his crush Aster Flores (Alexxis Lemire). But things get complicated when Ellie discovers she has feelings for Aster too.

The Half of It premieres May 1 on Netflix.
