Netflix’s New Movie Looks Like ‘A Quiet Place’ But With Bats And A Cult

The Silence

Bird Box was a huuuuge win for Netflix so four months later, they’ve churned out another suspenseful apocalyptic movie. It’s called The Silence and stars The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina‘s Kiernan Shipka and one of the world’s most underrated actors, Stanley Tucci.

Before we get into the synopsis, the movie does sound like A Quiet Place but The Silence appears to have more of an origin story and unlike Bird Box you actually see the monsters. In fact, they kind of look like big-screwed-up bats.

In The Silence, the world is under attack from terrifying creatures who hunt their human prey by sound. 16-year-old Ally Andrews (Kiernan Shipka), who lost her hearing when she was 13, seeks refuge with her family in a remote haven. But there, they discover a sinister cult who are eager to exploit Ally’s heightened senses.

The Silence is based on the novel of the same name by Tim Lebbon and Annabelle‘s John R. Leonetti directed the movie.

Shipka’s Chilling Adventures on-screen aunt Miranda Otto co-stars in the film as does John Corbett (Sex and the City, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before), Kate Trotter, and Kyle Breitkopf.

The Silence will hit the streaming giant April 10.

As for Sabrina Spellman, you can catch Part Two of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on April 5.

Elsewhere, John Krasinski recently revealed the US release date for A Quiet Place 2 – May 15, 2020.

Krasinski, who is writing the sequel’s screenplay, is also directing the movie.

Emily Blunt and extremely talented child actors Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are expected to reprise their roles. Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy is in talks to join the cast.
