Nash Edgerton’s “Bear” Selected For Sundance

Kieran Darcy Smith won’t be the only Aussie to grace Sundance this January. He won’t even be the only member of Blue-Tongue Films. Co-founder Nash Edgerton (“The Square”, stunts) recently booked his place thanks to Cannes-nominated short film, Bear. That’s the animal-related follow-up to the most terrifying nine minutes on Youtube, ‘Spider’. Written with Blue-Tongue brethren David Michod (Animal Kingdom) and staring actual brethren Joel Edgerton, as well as Teresa Palmer and Samson And Delilah writer/director Warwick Thornton, Bear marks Edgerton’s fifth short film to grace the prestigious international film festival.

Edgerton said: “It’s a huge honour that Bear has been selected to screen at Sundance but especially meaningful because Kieran Darcy-Smith, with whom I made my very first short film Loaded and who started Blue-Tongue Films with Joel and I back in the day, will be at Sundance too with his debut feature Wish You Were Here, opening the World Cinema Dramatic Competition. That’s a pretty memorable moment for us both and I can’t wait to be there supporting & celebrating with him.”
