Pick your favourite quote and break out your D-Qwon dance moves: the movie that gave Haley Duff indie cred, got “idiot” back into our insult repertoire and was solely responsible for reviving school yard tetherball, Napoleon Dynamite, is getting animated for a television series currently in development for American network Fox.
Unlike other television series based on cult films (i.e. Beetle Juice, Clueless, Robocop, etc) that have been complete suck holes, Napoleon Dynamite will feature the voices of the original cast: Jon Heder as Napoleon, Efran Ramirez as Pedro, Aaron Ruell as Kip Dynamite and the amazing Jon Gries as Uncle Rico. Jared and Jerusha Hess, who created the characters and wrote and directed the film, are also very involved with the development of the animated series too.
