‘Murder Mystery 2’ Is Coming, So There’s Something To Ignore For Two Hours

Murder Mystery, Netflix

At some point earlier this year, you probably looked up from your phone and dimly registered the fact that you were watching Murder Mystery, with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler.

I remember having it on in the background while eating dinner and checking Instagram, and many others must have done the same, as it broke viewing records for an opening weekend on Netflix.

Well, get ready, guys, because a sequel is officially on the way, meaning you’ll have two more hours of pleasant cinematic background noise to tune out as you do whatever else you’re doing!

The first Murder Mystery saw Aniston and Sandler starring as a fish-out-of-water couple, wrongfully accused of murder while on a fancy European holiday.

The movie ended with the pair boarding the notoriously murder-y Orient Express after clearing their names and solving the crime, so it would make sense to set the sequel there.

Though the cast has not yet been locked in, it is likely that the original stars will return for round two, especially given Sandler’s first-look deal with Netflix.

James Vanderbilt, who penned the original, as well as such films as White House Down, Zodiac and Independence Day: Resurgence, is tipped to return as screenwriter.

No release date has been set.
