The MTV Movie & TV Awards Are On, Which Is An Excuse To Ask Whomst The Fuck These People Are

The MTV Movie & TV Awards is peak (American) pop culture – I’m talking people from TikTok to the US Bachelor. And that means I spend a lot of time staring at the red carpet photos trying to figure out whomst is whomst. Am I getting old, or do I just have the worst facial recognition ever? Probably both. Let’s find out.

This is neither here nor there, but whenever I think MTV I just immediately think of Nikita Dragun rocking up to the VMAs red carpet with three men on leashes. That happened two years ago. I –

Anyway, the show was held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Sunday. Here are a slew of looks from the red carpet.

Long story short: Google was my friend today.

Addison Rae

TikTok star Addison Rae paired a sheer bandeau top with a silver belt (?) black skirt and black blazer. Belt, chain, belt, chain? Chain. Let’s go with chain.

Took me a second to place Addison, not gonna lie. She just looks different here!

Tanner Buchanan

Hmm. I mean, Tanner Buchanan looks effortlessly cool here. That’s about all I’ve got.

Tanner is one of the stars from Netflix’s Cobrai Kai, according to Google. I have watched one (1) episode of this show, but people seem to really like it.

Would I recognise him on the street? Probs not.

Antonia Gentry

Okay, I one hundo only recognised Antonia Gentry from Ginny & Georgia because of that whole Taylor Swift thing, remember? Basically, her character told a mate that they “go through men faster than Taylor Swift”.

And then Taylor responded to it. Bit of a yikes.

Rachel Lindsay

I’m giving myself a free pass on this one, because Rachel Lindsay‘s from the American Bachelor. I’m not at all up to date on it, but if Rachel’s on the red carpet she must’ve done something right (or very wrong).

Riley Keough

Riley Keough is definitely a name I’ve heard before, but I can’t place it. Fab ensemble though.

Update: she’s Elvis‘ grandkid. The more you know.

Madison Bailey

Let me just say that I barely recognised any of the Outer Banks cast because they’re actually wearing proper clothes, as opposed to swimmers and thongs. Not my fault!

The cast reunited on the red carpet, including Madison Bailey and more. I’ll get to them in a bit, but I’m leading with Madison because she is my fave out of the bunch.

The actor swapped surfer chic for a tiered Versace skirt with that iconic starfish print, fresh off the runway.

Chase Stokes

Next up is Outer Banks‘ Chase Stokes. Any bloke who departs from wearing a black ensemble to an event is good in my books.

Madelyn Cline

Stokes’ girlfriend / co-star Madelyn Cline also wore red to the event, which is just a tad cute. The pair were nominated for Best Kiss.

I honestly thought Cline was an influencer, before I clocked the photo description.

Jonathan Daviss

And here’s Jonathan Daviss, yet another star from Outer Banks.

It really is so weird seeing the cast in fancy clothes after watching them swan around town in mostly sunscreen (I hope) for the entire season.

Outer Banks has been renewed for a second season, by the way.

Lana Condor

We’re sliding into familiar territory now, I’m feeling confident again.

You’ll know my forever fave Lana Condor from the To All The Boys trilogy on Netflix. While the film series has come to an end, Lana already has a new Netflix show in the works. It’s called Boo, Bitch, and it’s already on my list.

Jacob Elordi

Here’s our very own Jacob Elordi of Euphoria fame giving us nothing, yet everything because he is annoyingly hot. I want to be that chain around his neck.

Elizabeth Olsen

And now to Elizabeth Olsen, who needs no introduction. Honestly.

The WandaVision star wore a little black dress by Miu Miu that featured diamond embellishments and cream cuffs.

Kathryn Hahn

Last, but absolutely not least, is Kathryn Hahn, who was nominated for Best Villain after her stunning performance as Agatha Harkness in WandaVision.

Do I still occasionally hum the line “it was Agatha all along” to myself even though that particular episode premiered yonks ago? Yes, yes I do.
