Mother Of God, They’re Making A Pez Movie

At some point in the last decade, big budget movies were split into three sub-genres: superheros, Disney remakes, and whatever bizarre and/or nostalgic shit they could license.

Here’s one to add to that last lot: the just-announced Pez movie. About Pez candy. You might even say it has been… *puts on sunglasses* … dispensed.

“PEZ Candy is beloved by children and adults alike,” said Envision Media Arts CEO and founder Lee Nelson, who entered into the exclusive agreement with Pez Candy Inc and has clearly not heard of double choc fudge brownies.

They’ve got a script writer attached by the name of Cameron Fray, who’s current IMDb writing credits include the currently-filming ‘Brothers in Law‘ with David Wain and Gillian Jacobs, and a bunch of shorts.

By the power of producers and writers combined, they’ve “created a world unique to Pez and a story that will touch the hearts of many.”

Films with non-traditional subject matter tend to be hit-and-miss – The Lego Movie was a success, Pixels a flop, and the Emoji movie TBD. We’re reserving judgement (mostly) on the Pez movie for now.

Side note: when was the last time you actually ate Pez?
