‘Molly’ Star Samuel Johnson Announces He’s Quitting Acting For Charity Work

Johnson made the announcement via a lengthy post on the Facebook page of his charity Love Your Sister, saying that he wants to focus solely on his goal of raising $10m for the organisation.
“I can’t act anymore,” he said in the post. “Not if I’m to serve you properly. I’m tired of other things dragging me away from you […] I cannot play pretend on telly while our families are falling.”
Johnson, who was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for his services to cancer research support organisaitons and the performing arts, said that his last paid acting work was Molly, which wrapped last year.
He plans to devote the bulk of his time to the group – which he started for his sister, who is facing terminal breast cancer – but says that “I will still have to do the odd voice-over so I can eat if that’s OK!”
