Up until five minutes ago I thought that surfers were either lazy stoners with commitment issues or long haired purists who hated tourists*. Now that’s a big assumption for someone who loves The Beach more than the beach (this stems from an irrational fear of taking my shirt off in public) but it also gives you a healthy indication of my perception/knowledge/appreciation of surfing.
If you say “Grommet” I think claymation dog. Bra Boys? Trans-gender cabaret act. If you were to say “good swell” I’d tell you that one of those words is redundant.
