Rather than trying to pinch the title of most-liked Instagram pic from this egg, Miley Cyrus is piggybacking off its popularity in order to shill her frankly very excellent single, ‘Nothing Breaks like a Heart‘.

Cyrus posted a throwback shot to her Twitter and her Stories, captioned “Nothing Breaks Like an EGG!” because she is extremely with the zeitgeist.

The shot’s a throwback to last year, when she did an easter-themed shoot for Vogue, where yeah, she was spanked by the Easter Bunny. It’s Miley Cyrus, what did you expect?

Cyrus’ effort pales in comparison to the mighty egg and its 43 million likes since it was originally posted on January 5. 3.7K likes on Twitter? Pitiful.
The single she’s trying to plug is her collab with Mark Ronson from November last year, which absolutely slaps. Enjoy it again with me, would you?
Of course Cyrus is not the first celeb to try to capitalise on the internet’s wholesome love of an important source of protein. Terry Crews yesterday made a bid for the most-liked spot, but is currently flagging way behind Egg, with only half a million likes. Crews attempted to draw upon the support of both Brooklyn Nine-Nine and America’s Got Talent fans, entreating them to like his egghead:
“ MAKE MY EGGHEAD MOST LIKED PIC!
NINE-NINE! #LikeTheEgg #BlackEggDontCrack #TerryLovesEggs #TerryOverEasy #AmericasGotTerry.”

Kylie Jenner, the woman whose crown was originally usurped, meanwhile is no longer posting about the egg, or making any attempt to reclaim her rightful place. She’s over-easy the egg rivalry. She definitely did not crack an egg on hot asphalt for spite.

Cyrus is expected to drop her seventh album, the follow-up to 2017’s middling Younger Now, sometime this year, with a little help from producers Ronson, Mike Will Made-It and Andrew Wyatt. Cracking stuff.
