Microsoft has issued an ‘official warning’ to buyers after some cooked chook decided to prank the internet into thinking their brand new Xbox Series X was smoking when it was really just vape smoke.
“We can’t believe we have to say this,” the company wrote on Twitter, “but please do not blow vape smoke into your Xbox Series X.”

The Microsoft warning comes after a video of an Xbox Series X absolutely chuffing smoke out of its many orifices went viral.
A debate then emerged online over whether the smoke was authentic or not, with some buyers claiming their console has also been smoking recently, while others calling the vid a clear fake.
Microsoft started an investigation into the matter, and while the company are yet to make a statement on its findings, it seems they may have just hinted at the results of their search. Vape smoke and idiocy are the cause of the Series X turning full steam train it seems.

It goes without saying that you should definitely not be blowing vape smoke into your Xbox, especially considering the price of one of those babies.
The asking price of one of these units is upwards of $550, and vapour of any kind going through that big ol’ box cannot be good for it at all. I know you’re keen on tricking the entirety of Twitter into believing that Microsoft is selling off smoke boxes, but alas, maybe blow the smoke elsewhere.
If you’re looking to get your hands on one of these fun boxes, you might have to be a bit patient, as the Xbox Series X and Series S are currently sold out at most retailers. However, if you’re one of the folks who pre-ordered this bad boy, please refrain from turning it into a chain smoker.
