Michelle Rodriguez Demands More Women In ‘Fast & Furious’ Or She’s Outtie

Michelle Rodriguez, the only female cast member who has been with the seemingly endless ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise since the first movie way back in 2001, has dropped a spicy little declaration, threatening to bail from any future films if women aren’t included more.

Rodriguez who has played Letty Ortiz, the wife of Vin Diesel’s Dominic, for five out the eight ‘F&F‘ films, posted a tribute to the films on Instagram overnight adding that whilst she’s loved the ride, the franchise still needs better female representation.

“I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one,” the butt-kicking star posted to her IG. “Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise. It’s been a good ride & Im (sic) grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years… One Love”.

The series, the eighth film of which dropped earlier this year, has seen a slow increase in dames who drift, with Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren and a pre-‘Wonder WomanGal Gadot all making their way into installments.
Whilst the last few movies all pass the Bechdel test (which we know isn’t the highest of accolades, but still), Michelle has in the past brought up the fact she doesn’t get enough woman-on-woman moments in F&F scripts.
Good on Rodriguez for making a statement on gender equality tbh. Even movies generally considered catered towards male viewers can benefit from more inclusive and diverse representation. Cause, I mean, girls like fast cars too, ya know?
