Michael Bublé, Bruno Mars and Some Other People Will Perform At This Year’s Logies

An effervescent elevator singer; a Lost Boy with a penchant for gold jewellery; a singer who owes her considerable profile as much to a reality television show she never competed in as to a bearded Wisconsin bonnie bear, and an Olly Murs will perform for money, adoration and their lives at this year’s TV Week Logie Awards.

Repeat offender Michael Bublé, Bruno Mars, Birdy and Mr Murs have all been handed the unenviable task of filling One Direction’s comically-oversized puffy white sneakers following today’s announcement that they’ll be the headlining the ‘rhyming words set to music’ sections which punctuate the interminable broadcast, held this year on April 7th and rebuilt from the ground up around a new, egalitarian voting system; a democracy.
If you are looking for a common thread between each performer, it’s that they’re all international acts. Also, ‘hats,’ ‘vintage aesthetic’ and ‘ties askew.’
The highlight of the ceremony, undoubtedly, will be whatever publicly broadcast tomfoolery Karl Stefanovic gets up to in the moonlit hours between the end of one telecast the resumption of another in the wee hours and harsh light of the morning after.
Like an episode of Big Brother that never ends, nominees will be announced on Monday.
