Meryl Streep Beats Herself, Kisses Sandra Bullock

Meryl Streep has beaten, errr, Meryl Streep to take out a Golden Globe for ‘Best Actress in a Comedy of Musical’. She won for her performance in Julia and Julia!, yet was also nominated for “It’s Complicated” alongside Sandra Bullock, for her performance in The Blind Side, Marion Cotillard for Nine, and Julia Roberts for her performance in Duplicity. Streep holds the record for the most Golden Globe nominations, with a total of 25 nominations and seven wins under her belt.

She’ll surely be pleased that she won alone this time, having tied with Sandra Bullock for the same award at the Critics Choice Awards only a few days earlier. At the ceremony the pair staged a mock fight, pretending to be furious that they had both won, before doing a Britney and Madonna circa 2003 and making out on stage. In her acceptance speech Bullock said that the pair were very similar and that they both love “…food and sex” (um, doesn’t everyone?) before announcing that “…Meryl’s a great kisser.” Great, Streep can now add kissing Sandra Bullock to her seemingly infinite list of achievements.
