90s NBA Card Shows Menendez Brothers Courtside After Killing Parents

Menendez Brothers

Infamous killers the Menendez brothers have been spotted in court-side seats on a classic ’90s basketball card, in a photo that appears to have been taken in-between murdering their parents and their subsequent arrests.

The card in question shows Mark Jackson of the New York Knicks, with Lyle and Eric Menendez seated to his left. It was originally shared on Reddit, and sports business reporter Darren Rovell ran the timelines and found that it does indeed check out.

The Menendez brothers murdered their parents on August 20, 1989, and after attempting to make the deaths look like a mafia hit, spent the next several months blowing through their fortune before being arrested in March of 1990.

The photo taken during the 1989-1990 NBA season, which matches up to the time period when the brothers were on the lam. What do we do with this information? I have absolutely no idea, but you can check out an image of the card below:

The brothers were eventually found guilty of their parents’ murders in 1996, and were kept separately in prison for more than 20 years, unable to verbally communicate with each-other, until April of this year, when they were moved to the same housing unit and reportedly “burst into tears” on seeing each-other.
