Melissa George Apologises To Her Favourite Croissants, Fans

Actress, received pronouncer and Internet shitstorm chaser, Melissa George, has issued a public apology to the croissants at Bourke Street Bakery after last weekend’s highly-publicised “meltdown”, in which George made clear her feelings about the superiority of sweet flaky Parisian pastry over what she inferred was largely inferior local fare that needed to move on and whose fixation with the past was “disgusting”.

Thankfully, George has also taken the opportunity to apologise to her fans for being openly hostile toward the Australian media after my pal Larry Emdur, his gal pal Kylie Gillies and an mX journalist had the temerity to ask Melissa George some stupid fucking questions about her breakout role as Angel Parrish on Home & Away some twenty years ago.
The events of the week have upset me and I want to apologise to any of my fans who were offended about my comments about Australia last weekend.

It was never my intention. I’m really proud of my Australian roots and I will continue to come home often to see my family and to work here.

In fact my favourite croissants in the world are at the Bourke Street Bakery in Surry Hills. [note: the exact pastries we referenced during the initial clusterfuck of perceived snobbery]
I’m also proud of my early work in Australia and am always happy for people to refer to ‘Home and Away’, but what I really want to be able to talk to my fans about is the work I’m doing now.

I’ve been fortunate to have had a wonderful career over the past 20 years here and overseas, including working on the series Hunted which HBO [in the US] confirmed will continue.”
Earlier this week, Hunted was cancelled by the BBC and picked up promptly by HBO, the network with whom George has previously likened the ABCHunted will screen on SBS next week starting on November 24th, and will continue regardless of BBC’s programming decisions.
Local sidewalks, little espressos and tree trunks are eagerly awaiting an apology from George’s French Bulldog, Glee, who remains staunchly in favour of taking his walkies and dumps in New York City. Moving on…
