Mel Doyle Quits Sunrise, Upsets The Established Breakfast-Hosting Matrix

Kochie’s reason for waking up in the morning, one half of the breakfast-hosting power couple, Sunrise’s Melissa Doyle this morning announced her resignation.

She’s been a host on the program for fourteen years which is likely more than 50% of your current age. 

Mel is abandoning David Koch for a new challenge; exact details of which have not yet been disclosed. We do know she’ll remain with Seven and the project is in the prime time “network news” realm.

Her replacement comes in the form of one Samantha Armytage, who has fronted Weekend Sunrise for six years. 

Has this thrown a spanner in the pre-work cereal bowls of all Australians?
“I’ve cherished every moment and every experience on Sunrise,”
says Mel.
“Mel is a very special person to me and it’s been a privilege to work with her and share so many experiences. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am for her,” says Kochie.
