The Royal Instagram Shares Sweet Post Honouring Meghan’s First Mother’s Day

While several countries across the globe spent yesterday celebrating Mother’s Day, England was not one of them. Nay, their Mother’s Day was celebrated back in March but as you’ll know, Duchess Meghan Markle is a born and bred American and therefore she posted a sweet tribute on the royal fam’s Instagram account yesterday and blessed us with another sweet snap of baby Archie in the process.

The regal account posted a photo of Meghan and Prince Harry’s newborn bb’s feet and wrote, “Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered.”

“We honour and celebrate each and every one of you. Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe.”

The post concludes, “This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex,” along with the following quote:

“Quote from “lands” by @nayyirah.waheed:
my
mother
was
my first country;
the first place i ever lived.”

There has been speculation that the pic was also a tribute to Archie’s late grandmother, Princess Diana, because forget-me-nots, the flowers in the photo, were famously Diana’s favourite blooms and Meghan’s bridal bouquet, which was hand-picked by Prince Harry, also included forget-me-nots.
