21-year-old Tegan Martin of Newcastle was last night crowned as Australia’s Miss Universe, on her third attempt at taking out the title. Aww, snaps for Tegan, whose story proves that if you work hard, never give up and also happen to be incredibly good-looking, you too can achieve your dreams.
Martin had finished second in the competition twice before, but last night, she beat out 30 other hopefuls to win the Hearts On Fire crown, in a ceremony at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins Street. Judges at the event included choreographer Jason Coleman and Real Housewife with whom you categorically do not fuck Gina Liano.
Martin was judged on her style in swimwear, and also judged by the Sofia Vergara lookalike on the left, who can be seen smiling tightly and plotting a million different types of revenge.
Presumably one of the other contestants tried to sabotage Martin by cutting a large chunk of fabric out of her dress, but instead, she decided to own it, Regina George-style.
It has been 10 years since Australia’s Jennifer Hawkins was crowned Miss Universe in Ecuador. Martin will compete for the international title later this year.
