Tintin/Billy Elliot, Zoe Barnes from House Of Cards, Wallace from The Wire and Miles Teller from a bunch of stuff – I don’t know, Google it – have all been tapped for Fox’s entirely necessary Fantastic Four reboot, with multiple entertainment industry outlets this afternoon reporting that Jamie Bell, Kate Mara and Michael B. Jordan will be joining Teller in the ensemble franchise adapted from a popular 1961 comic book.
Per the artful photo composite above, Bell will reportedly play Ben Grimm, or more cruelly, The Thing; Mara will step into the shoes once filled by the inimitable method actor Jessica Alba to play Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman; Teller will play the obnoxious nerd alert Mr. Fantastic, Reid Richards, which leaves Micky B to self-immolate as the Human Torch in a role made famous by Chris Evans some nine years prior.
According to Variety, “the contemporary update will focus on the characters as young men and women” – as opposed to the originals’ twilight years focus?
Directed by Josh Trank, The Fantastic Four is slated for a June 19, 2015 release and better hope it’s half as good as this looks.
