Matthew Weiner Signs On For Mad Men Season Five and Six

After immense speculation/hyperventilation it has been confirmed that Matthew Weiner has inked his commitment as show-runner for the fifth and sixth seasons of Mad Men. Which poses one major question: will Don Draper get jiggy with it as he enters the disco decade? Draper’s dapper yet dowdy fashion sense is in desperate need of an avant-garde overhaul and it feels like now is the right time.

Any speculation of cast members being cut was expunged in an interview Weiner did with Vulture, earlier today. Weiner also lauded all parties involved for their respect towards creative control. “I also want to thank AMC and Lionsgate for agreeing to support the artistic freedom of myself, the cast and the crew so that we can continue to make the show exactly as we have from the beginning. I’m excited to get started on the next chapter of our story.”

Unfortunately the announced date for airing was accurate, meaning we will have to wait until early next year before we’re regaled by TV’s favourite advertising cohort.
