The New MasterChef S13 Contestants Are Here For You (Me) To Judge Over A Bowl Of Pesto Pasta

MasterChef Australia Season 13

IT’S HAPPENING, IT’S HAPPENING: MasterChef Australia has blessed us with a first look at season 13. Folks, it’s time to meet the contestants… and then feel immediately bad about your (my) poor cooking skills.

Channel 10 released two (2!!) teasers on Wednesday night, and one of them unveiled the first few cast members.

Of course, judges Melissa LeongJock Zonfrillo, and Andy Allen have returned to help mentor and guide the cooks through their MasterChef journey.

Okay, so there’s Brent, who grew up eating meat and three veg. He’s a 100% self-taught cook, who describes his cooking style as a bit like his face, “not refined at all”. Brent, my dude, you have a very cool beard.

There’s also Kishwar, who comes from a big family of cooks.

“The Bengali cuisine that I carry with me has been passed down from generation to generation,” she says in the teaser.

“I’ve always taken a little creative license with it.”

Next up: Minoli. When she was 31, she lost her sense of taste. It’s slowly started to come back, giving her a whole new insight into flavour and an understanding of food that she never had before.

Therese is part Taiwanese, part Burmese, and part Chinese, and she loves cooking French pastry.

Lastly, there’s Elise, who cooks to make people happy. She’s a self-described “feeder”, whose love language is food. Same, to be honest.

Go on then, have a taste.

I’M SO EXCITED, I’M SO HUNGRY, I’M SO HAPPY MASTERCHEF IS COMING BACK.

Oh look, another teaser.

My mouth is watering.

Honesty though, it looks like it’s going to be another ripper season!

Channel 10 hasn’t announced a release date for MasterChef Australia season 13 just yet, but we’ll keep you updated.

In the meantime, head on over to 10 play to watch all past seasons on demand now.

And, you can check out its Asian, American, and British counterparts on 10 play too.
