Massive Uni Cheating Scandal Uncovered in Sydney

An investigation by the Sydney Morning Herald has uncovered what appears to be a “large-scale academic cheating scandal” affecting universities across Australia.

In an article published this morning, the paper has accused Sydney-based businesswoman Yingying Dou, 30, of being the brains behind MyMaster, an essay ghostwriting service aimed at international students.
According to a flyer for the service found in a bathroom at the University of Technology, Sydney, MyMaster’s pitch is:
“Are you racking your brains on your school work? Do you worry about spending $3000 retaking tuition on the failing subject? Leave your worries to MyMaster and make your study easier!”

Allegedly, MyMaster has turned in up to “900 fraudulent assignments” in 2014, taking in up to $1000 for each. A sliding pricing scale is allegedly available for essay grades from pass through to high distinction.
The service reportedly allows students to have others sit online tests for them, and claims to have 100 graduates from Australia’s top universities writing its essays.
One MyMaster request uncovered by Fairfax was for “a 6000-word research assignment for a human rights law course at the University of NSW, which was worth 70 per cent of the student’s overall grade.”
