Mary And Conor Just Had A Wee Baby Girl, So Maybe Cancelling BIP This Year Was A Bad Idea?

Just when I thought there wouldn’t be anymore surprise celeb births after Emma Stone and Bindi Irwin‘s babies, we have been gifted with one more. Yep, Bachie angels Mary Viturino and Conor Canning just welcomed a baby girl called Summer Elizabeth Canning, making her the first Bachelor in Paradise baby.

The pair shared the exciting news on Saturday, with a bunch of Bachie alum sending their congratulations on Instagram.

“How awesome – huge congrats guys,” Matty J said.

“Awww CONGRATS YOU TWO! Amazing news!! She’s divine,” Brittany Hockley commented.

“OH MY GOD!!! Oh Mary!! We are so happy for your guys and booking flights ASAP,” Alisha Aitken-Radburn wrote.

Cheeky little Summer came six weeks early, which meant that Conor (who was on a work trip in Sydney at the time) had to watch the birth on Facetime. Aww bless him. But looks like he’s at the hospital with his little bebe now, and according to Mary, she’s already “Daddy’s Girl.”

Mary and Conor met on the set of Bachelor in Paradise. Conor came into paradise as a clean-skin, meaning he had never been on the Bachelor or Bachelorette before.

The new parents seemed like they’d end up unlucky in love, but as fate would have it quickly formed a connection, and the rest is history.

Mary Viturino also has another child called Chanel, and I’m sure she’ll be over the moon to be a big sister to little Summer.

In October last year, via Mediaweek, it was announced that Bachelor in Paradise would not be returning in 2021.

“We love all the excitement, drama and of course love that Bachelor in Paradise brings, but we have decided to rest it in 2021,” a spokesperson for Network 10 said.

But maybe that wasn’t the best idea, as Conor and Mary’s love story proves that the show isn’t always such a colossal failure.
