Credit where it’s due, this is actually pretty cool.
Say what you want about movie marketing, but for all the times it can be vastly over-saturated to the point where it feels like its being shoved down your throat, the flipside is that occasionally something fairly outside-the-box comes along that’s actually pretty cool.
To wit, Marvel Studios is gearing up to release Ant-Man unto the world, and despite last week dropping a mystifying “trailer preview” – in essence, a trailer for a trailer – to prepare audiences for the release of the actual trailer, the marketing for the production now seems firmly back on the cool tracks.
Intrepid people on Reddit the frontline of the internet have spotted Marvel’s latest nifty little advertising ploy: tiny, ant-sized billboards at various public places around Brisbane.
Seriously. This is pretty damned neat.
Ant-Man comes out on July 17th. Keep your eyes peeled for more tiny marketing coolness between now and then.
