Marvel Cut Costs By Filming ‘The Avengers’ On iPhone

Marvel have rocked the movie world with revelations that parts of their epic film version of The Avengers was filmed on iPhones.

The news was broken by cinematographer Seamus McGarvey, who told the Irish Film & Television Network that “I did a couple of shots on the iPhone and they are in the movie. In fact, they are in the trailer! I understand that sometimes there is no choice and you have to go for the cheapest option, but if you are limited for choice, you can still make poignant decisions that will effect the look of the film.” Cheapest indeed, with the speculated budget for the movie, made in conjunction with Disney and Paramount as somewhere in the realm of $300 million.

The film teams up a bunch of Marvel favourite in what will undeniably make a mint at the box office, including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor and The Incredible Hulk. It also stars Samuel L. Jackson as a badass with an eyepatch, which is obviously amazing. Of course, the trailer has already been released, so now it’s up to you to pick which bits were filmed on everyone’s favourite piece of Jobsian technology. It’s like ‘spot the difference’, but with professionalism!
