Mark Wahlberg Blew an Insane Amount of Money Playing Roulette

Mark Wahlberg, the wicked hahd Bawsten-accented inspiration behind Entourage and the star of a crotch-grabbing Calvin Klein campaign that still resonates to this day, has revealed that he lost a staggering amount of money at a casino in Macau.

Per a report in the Sydney Morning Herald, Wahlberg was preparing for a role as a drug-addicted gambler when he decided to go big, blowing an eye-watering $45,000 US on a single spin of roulette.
At least he maybe broke even. “I hit blackjack three times,” he said. “Needless to say, I won a lot of money. And like my character in the movie, I took every chip off the table and walked right over to the roulette wheel, put it all on black, and lost everything.”

Good job, Wahlberg.

Next time we do something monumentally stupid like a round of strip karaoke after 18 shots at the work Christmas party, we’re going to use the “like my character in the movie …” excuse and see how it plays out.
Wahlberg’s new film, The Gambler, is a remake of a 1974 James Caan film about a man running afoul of a loan shark, and also stars the likes of John Goodman, Jessica Lange and Brie Larson.
It’s out on Christmas Day in the US, and is out in Australia on February 5.
