Mariah Carey To Produce Drama Series On Her Favourite Subject, Mariah Carey

It’s safe to say that eternal mistress of shade Mariah Carey LOVES drama. The woman practically invented the concept of being a diva and so it’s actually mind-boggling that there hasn’t been a drama series based on her life, until now.

Literal AND metaphorical shade. My God, she’s good.
The as-yet unnamed project (if it’s not called ‘I Don’t Know Her: The Mariah Carey Story‘ I’ll be ropeable) is set to air on the home of messy dramas, US network Starz, as it charts the rise to fame of a 16 year-old Carey-like singer-songwriter trying to make her way to stardom in 1986 New York City.
Mariah will be excecutive producer on the new show, alongside her long-time friend and ‘Rush Hour‘ director Brett Ratner, with writing duties belonging to a Nina Colman, whose largest claim to fame appears to be penning the direct-to-video ‘Dr Dolittle 3‘. Oh, good.
The biggest selling female artist of all-time and only human being who can communicate with dolphins had her last stint on TV in her failed ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians‘ docu-series imitation ‘Mariah’s World’, so here’s hoping this no-doubt trainwreck is at least slightly better than that.
We have no idea when this thing will come about, but know that we’ll continue to bring you all the pertinent Mariah news regardless.
