Mariah Carey Pulled Some Classic Diva Behaviour On A Recent Film Set

We absolutely live for tales of Mariah Carey‘s intense diva antics, and this latest account of her holding up production on the set of a major film certainly fits within the pattern of behaviour we all know and love.
Mimi has a cameo in The House, the upcoming comedy in which Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler open an illegal casino to pay for their kid’s college tuition, but according to co-star Rob Huebel, her appearance didn’t go entirely smoothly.
Carey demanded white roses and stuffed lambs for her trailer – pretty standard for someone who themes entire bathroom around Hello Kitty – then showed up late to set and refused to sing the song producers planned for her.
The real diva reared her head, however, when Carey refused to film a certain key scene. The singer, who plays a version of herself, insisted that her character should have superpowers, specifically the ability to deflect bullets.
Huebel said:

“So then they were going to do this bit where they shoot her, I think, and they kill her – in the movie, not in real life. But she didn’t want that. She was like, ‘I don’t feel like my character would get killed by bullets. What if I deflected them like Wonder Woman?’ They were like, ‘Mariah, we don’t have time for [this]. You’re getting paid so much money. We have you for like one day. We don’t have time to argue with you. Just do it.’ She just didn’t want to do what they wanted her to do.”
“Fucking what is going on with her?” Huebel said. “It was bananas.”
I don’t know, dude, I think that’s just the price you pay for working with a legend.
