Out of all the actors probably dying to be cast as Tiger King‘s Joe Exotic in the upcoming miniseries, the host of the Joe Exotic podcast has his heart set on… Margot Robbie.
Speaking on Radio Andy, podcast host Robert Moor let the news slip in a completely serious tone at a time when the Netflix docuseries is racking up fans by the minute.
“My preferred casting – and this is off the wall – would be Margot Robbie. I think Margot Robbie should play Joe in a like a gender switch,” he said.
When host Andy Cohen replied that Joe Exotic is “too ugly” to be played by someone like Robbie, Moor said all that matters is that they have similar eyes.
“Just look at her eyes, that’s the thing, if you look at her eyes, she has these eyes that are just like Joe’s… I think she would do a great job with it,” he said. He’s actually got a point.
Among other names that have apparently been thrown around to play Joe Exotic is JoJo Rabbit star Sam Rockwell, whom Moor said was “one of the names that came up a lot.”
While we already know SNL comedian Kate McKinnon is playing Carole Baskin, Moor also let slip that Talladega Nights star John C. Reilly is being considered for the role of Doc Antle.
“I like that one a lot,” he said.
Moor told people to @ him with their own suggestions about who should play Joe Exotic on Twitter. Personally, I reckon it’s time for Guy Fieri’s acting debut.
