In news that seems almost too perfect to be true, The Mirror report that a North Carolina man has been arrested after beating local police in a donut eating contest.
24-year-old Brandon Hardison attended an anti-crime event in Camden County last week, although that may not have been the wisest decision on his part, given that he was also a suspect in a burglary.
The lure of sugary treats proved too strong, however. At the event, Hardison scoffed down eight donuts in two minutes, making him the winner of the challenge.
Sheriff Max Robeson recognised him as a wanted man, but graciously allowed him to finish up, congratulating him on his win before taking him into custody, where he was subsequently charged with two counts of breaking and entering.
So you see, this arrest was totally above board, and not the result of any kind of elaborate sting operation.
