‘GoT’ Survivor Maisie Williams Will Star In New Crime Caper Comedy Series

Maisie Williams – you probably know the 22-year-old as Arya Stark on eight seasons of Game of Thrones – has been announced as the star of a new British comedy series, working title: Two Weeks to Live.

The six-part Sky Original series is written by Gaby Hull (buzzy university drama Cheat). The show’s a classic fish-out-of-water saga, where Williams as Kim Noakes, an outsider in a quaint country town, finds herself embroiled in a world of crime (!!!) after a prank goes awry. Yep, Deadline has it that Noakes ends up on the run from both a murderous gangster and the cops with a big ol’ bag of stolen $$$, with just her carefully cultivated survival instincts to rely on. Sounds to me like hijinks will ensue.

Filming for Two Weeks to Live kicks off later this year, with the series  set to air in the UK and Ireland in 2020. No news as yet about an international, ergo Aussie, release.

Here’s Williams’ statement on the matter of finally being able to pursue long-term projects sans dragons, swords, et al: “Looking forward to getting into something new, I think Two Weeks To Live has really great potential and I want to make something incredible with this wonderful team!

Sky’s Director of Comedy, Jon Mountague bragged that the series is “to die for. Bold, British and very, very original“.

While you wait for the series to drop, you can check out Maisie Williams’ new(ish) podcast Thinking Big, or head on over to Williams’ Twitter account, where she posts that ~ relatable content ~.

Wonder what this is referring to…
